Hello, my name is
Haley Jane Forsyth.
I’m a performer, director, choreographer, stage manager, musician, production manager, & playwright currently residing in
Ashland, OR.
Forsyth has been performing for 25 years as an actress, singer, dancer, and musician. Growing up in Lake Tahoe, CA, she was active in the arts, sports, and various other outdoor activities. Forsyth has always enjoyed learning new things and was fortunate to have diverse opportunities in her youth.
At the age of 16, Forsyth attended the University of Nevada, Reno, where she studied vocal performance, theater, and psychology. During her collegiate years, she participated in many productions both on and offstage. It was there that she gained her first technical theatre skills, from lighting and sound operation to stage management and directing. Thanks to the guidance of Professor Robert Gander, she found herself captivated by the theater scene surrounding Ashland, Oregon, and auditioned for theatre the year following graduation.
Forsyth moved to the Rogue Valley in 2015 after accepting her first contract with the Oregon Cabaret Theatre as a swing in “Cabaret”. She has been involved with theatre here full time ever since, and has the privilege to work with both regional and community companies. She is grateful for all the opportunities given to her over the years she has come to call Southern Oregon home.
As a queer artist, she makes it her mission to create theatre that is inclusive and empowering, with a goal to uplift queer, BIPOC, and disabled artists. It is always her desire to collaborate greatly and expand the theatre community through her roles as a director, choreographer, and producer.
When she isn't contracted at one theater or another, Forsyth works as the Production Manager for the Ashland New Plays Festival, ‘bringing new works to life’. She spends her free time with her fiancé, Ryder, who has taught her the true meaning of unconditional love. She also loves her two best friends, Bri and Shannon, and her incredibly supportive family. Forsyth spends free time making art, playing video games, escaping into nature, and cuddling her two adorable cats, Okie and Ellie Fitz.
